A Bride in Name Only

Daniel Clark and his son, Benjamin were not keeping up with the farming, household chores and school lessons after their beloved Katherine's passing. Daniel had decided not to forsake the memory of Katherine by falling in love with the mail order bride he had arranged. She was there to teach Benjamin and to care for their well-being and the household. Nothing more. Why then did it rile him so to see her and his best friend, Michael, enjoy each other's company so? Laura Clark had proved herself many times since taking up the role of wife to Daniel, but she was yet to be accepted by either Daniel or Benjamin. The only bright moments she knew were when Michael was visiting. What did the West hold in store for her? Would she ever see her mother again? Could Daniel live with a wife only in name and never as God intended? Would Benjamin accept Laura into the family, not as a replacement to his mother, but as someone to love who loved him as a mother might?
