O tej książce

Arthur Conan Doyle wrote 3 Sherlock Holmes stage plays and this volume contains them all complete and unabridged. The first play is the eponymous named "Sherlock Holmes." It was a great success when it was first performed in the USA in 1899, and a hit again when it was presented in the UK in 1901. This play was hugely instrumental in creating the image of Sherlock Holmes which is still being widely imitated today, and it is also notable for the appearance on stage of Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes's greatest adversary. The second play is "The Speckled Band." It is an adaptation of the all-time classic short story of the same name, and this play was also a huge success when it first appeared on the London stage in 1910. The third play is "The Crown Diamond." It was first performed in London in 1921, and this play is notable for the appearance of Professor Moriarty's top assassin Colonel Moran; another of Sherlock Holmes's deadliest opponents, and considered to be the second most dangerous man in London (the most dangerous being, of course, Moriarty). The three plays in this volume have been re-edited to make them easily readable for people not used to reading stage scripts, but also keeping them loyal and true to those people who are familiar with them. Enjoy.
