I'll Be Waiting - a Philip Marlowe / Tony Reseck Short Story

To Tony Reseck, it seemed like his usual night shift as the house detective at the Windermere Hotel in Los Angeles. Walk the halls, check the door knobs, keep it all quiet. Then he hears after hours music from the radio room. Jazz. Loud. That shouldn't be. A red-haired girl is playing Benny Goodman. He knows Eve Cressy; she's been staying in a Tower Room for five days and hasn't left the hotel. Isn't she the one who sent that guy to prison a few years back for manslaughter? She's bored. She tells Tony that she's "waiting for a tall dark guy that's no good." This could be trouble.
