O tej książce

Why another book on Blackjack? This is a fair question and warrants an answer. First, I am not at all sure it is necessary. I suppose the world could endure without it. To be real honest - on the face of things, when making a study of Blackjack, (which involves reading much that has been written about it, plus many, many thousands of practice hands, in addition to actually playing in legalized casinos) I could be considered presumptuous in offering another book on the subject. In my search to find a simple Blackjack system — one that was easy to understand, with easy-to-learn strategy and ideas, I found none that suited me. Further, since I consider myself an average person when observing the types of people who spend time in the pursuit of games such as Blackjack, I felt there had to be others who felt the same way.I do not downgrade most of the books on Blackjack that I have read. They, no doubt, are serving a purpose, and allow many players to do better at the game. Most give credit to Dr. Thorp for awakening the gambling public to the possibilities of potential profit. Authors Goodman, Allen, Holloway, Hart, Thorp, Scharff, Revere and others have given their best to assist the player at the Blackjack table. However, for one reason or another, all failed to do anything for me, but to encourage this book, which I hope will meet my objectives. To state that objective it is to furnish the average person with a method of operation that is easy to learn and use — one that has a chance for success, without alarming the dealer or pit boss. In one short sentence — how to play Blackjack for profit. How close I come to accomplishing this objective, only you will know.My strategy, other than my card splitting, has not too much variance from the strategies advocated by most of the authors I have read, and calls for a minimum of knowledge and ability to learn. I can truthfully say that my card counting, and money management suggestions too, can be learned without the benefit of higher education or a superior IQ.With this objective and viewpoint, I offer this book - plus the thought that since it works for me, surely it can work for most of you.I am now retired. My education consisted of but one year of college. I was not endowed with a terrific memory and found myself for 36 years at the same job (time out for WWII). This writing is a compilation of my ideas and actions, concerning Blackjack, for most of my adult life.I have written with much confidence, and I intended to; but, I must say to all, that I in no way can guarantee you to be a winner. Many things must be in order, for you to play competitive Blackjack. I offer you my accumulated years of experience and tell you this is the best I have. I use it all the time. If you apply yourself to learning the contents of this book, I firmly believe you will be delighted with the results.
