O tej książce

In this book I present the information I used, as an U.S. based American ophthalmologist, to open an ophthalmic regenerative medicine practice in Dubai, one of the seven Emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). While ophthalmology specific, the information may be used as a construct to open a regenerative medicine, or other medical specialty practice as well. The book is divided into several sections. Chapters 1 – 1.4 provides an introduction to ophthalmology, stem cells, and the ocular conditions that are presently treated. Chapters 2 – 4 provide a literature review and a discussion of the diffusion of innovation. Chapters 5 and 6 introduce the reader to the background of teaching a new procedure in a foreign country, Dubai, and discusses medical tourism. Chapters 7 – 9 present the surveys and analysis that were sent to the newly hired physicians at Fakeeh University in Dubai. Chapter 10 is a discussion of how the status of the innovator determined the acceptance of the innovation. Chapter 11 presents a discussion of funding and potential competitors. Chapter 12 is the summary.
