O tej książce
When contributing editor Dorothy Allison's first story collection, Trash, came out in 1988, it was a revelation. The autobiographical stories about "a cross-eyed working-class lesbian, addicted to violence, language, and hope" leaped off the page. The collection is being reissued this month, and Tin House is proud to publish "Compassion," a new story written for the new edition. We're also excited to run an excerpt from Richard Powers's new novel, The Time of Our Singing. Another contemporary master, Francine Prose, talks with our editor at large, Elissa Schappell, about her new book, The Lives of the Muses, the state of literature today (too many size queens), and bad sex.
