The Volcano Cleaners: America at its best !

Volcano sleep a long time so have to be lucky to catch them awake ... for example Mount St Helens USA 1980My career history now has an entry .... Volcano Cleaner !...Growing up in England in the 1970s I longed to see America. It seemed such an exciting country but in those days flights were expensive and as a university student I had no money. On graduation I worked in London for one year and then decided to quit the job and go to visit the USA.Selling my old car I got a one way ticket to New York and what was left I turned into US dollar travellers cheques. I stayed four months in the US travelling to 25 States and met Americans all along the way who invited me to stay with them. No hotels, no planes, no car hire, just amazingly generous regular people.This is a true story of my time in Portland Oregon. My story The Grey Rabbit is a follow up to this story. Enjoy the ride …..
