This illustrated book celebrates the game of polo, the "king of games", now played by over 8000 people in 35 countries. It looks at the history of the sport and the state of the game worldwide, at the players and their ponies, and at the international teams and their tactics. John Lloyd is a the leading polo journalist who specializes in recording the English social scene and writing about the game of polo internationally. He contributes regularly to "Polo International", "Sporting Horse" and "The Independent" newspaper and is the editor of "Polo Annual". His editorial advisor for the book is Major Ronald Ferguson, the Prince of Wales' polo manager.
