The Francis Report: One year on: The response of acute trusts in England

This Nuffield Trust report explores the response of acute hospital trusts in England tothe Francis Report of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry,published in 2013. The research asked questions about how hospital trusts respondedto the main themes in the Francis Report, and for their reflections on the challengesof changing the quality and culture of care in a demanding environment. The researchwas based on 49 in-depth interviews with predominantly senior staff at five case studyhospitals, and the responses of 53 trusts to an electronic survey.
