The Bacon-Shakespeare Connection: A Scholarly Study

William Shakspere (1564-1616) of Stratford is popularly credited with originating all of the plays under his name, while history records that hiscontemporary, the essayist and philosopher Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626), had small interest in drama. This book makes the detailed case thatneither of these views is accurate. Here, Shakspere emerges as a play-broker who added low-quality dialogue to the work of others. A new Rare Collocation Profiling method is used to obtain evidence thatBacon contributed to several Shakespeare plays, while surprising new facts are presented showing that he knew of Shakspere's brokerage. The argument is supported throughout by scholarly footnotes documenting thea uthor's entirely new researches.
