O tej książce

Artist Faith Ringgold. For its 2022 Culture issue, “The Artist’s Way,” T photographed and interviewed 34 artists from various disciplines to provide a glimpse into how creative people live and work. Rather than focus on grand gestures, the idea was to instead highlight the seemingly mundane activities that some of our greatest artists either incorporate into their creative processes — or pursue in order to let their minds empty and drift. “I told our photographers that this issue is about private, internal moments,” says Nadia Vellam, T’s photography and video director. “I wanted the portraits to be cinematic and voyeuristic, and to focus on someone in a moment of personal expression or contemplation.” Collectively, the images provide windows into the subjects’ daily the choreographer Raja Feather Kelly waiting for the F train, the conceptual artist Rirkrit Tiravanija cooking pad Thai and the actor Ethan Hawke walking his dogs (“They were incredibly well behaved,” Vellam notes). Samuel R. Delany’s Life in Books; ‘Bridgerton’s’ Jonathan Bailey Takes the Plunge; Piet Oudolf’s Work Is Never Done; Beanie Feldstein Warms Up for ‘Funny Girl’; In a Paris Garden, Daniel Roseberry Sketches in Peace; For Radha Blank, a Park Bench Can Be the Best Seat in the House; How Katerina Tannenbaum Dances Her Way Out of Her Head; Ethan Hawke Runs Lines With His Dogs; and much more.
