Have you ever wondered what would happen if a mother and daughter could really talk? Serpent A Mother-Daughter Epic is an intimate, intense, and, yes, courageous exploration of a common story, conflict between mother and adult daughter. In this version, the mother’s attempt to help the newly-divorced daughter is definitely not a success. We get the mother’s story in poetry – well-meaning love and terrible anger – and then the daughter’s honest essay in response. Perhaps the writing – or the reading – makes the mending.
