Oxford Latin Course

Following the guidance of W. Sidney Allen, the recognized authority on Latin pronunciation, these two cassettes present authentic Latin speech, giving a taste of how everyday Latin might have sounded. The recorded extracts are spread over two cassettes and include many of the cartoon captions,Responde Latine questions, Fabellae , dramatized dialogues, and other short passages of narrative prose and verse that are found in Parts 1-3 of the course. For the Oxford Latin Reader there are longer extracts of prose and verse covering the principal authors of the Golden Age including Cicero,Catullus, Virgil, and Ovid.
