Museum global: Microhistories of an Ex-centric Modernism

Since the 1990's, there has been a growing interest in a global historical perspective on modernity. The first volume of the research project Museum global critically analyzes the centering of modernism on the Western canon and delves into various micro-histories of modern art production in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The second volume features scholarly essays that explore, among other things, questions regarding the educational mission of museums today.
