Moses, Mods and Mr Fish: The Menswear Revolution

From the late 19th to the late 20th century, British menswear set trends that led the world. Many of the most influential figures of that period were Jewish, from Elias Moses and Montague Burton to Cecil Gee and Michael Fish. This catalogue, which accompanies the Jewish Museum London exhibition 'Moses, Mods and Mr Fish: The Menswear Revolution' explores how their ideas shaped the high street and the modern male wardrobe. A series of newly commissioned essays draw on the main themes of the exhibition with contributions from Laura Jones, Rachel Lichtenstein, Laura Ugolini, Richard Weight, Lily Crowther and Danielle Sprecher, and an introduction by exhibition curator Elizabeth Selby.
