When Sydney Wells, a workaholic lawyer and passionate children's advocate, meets John Appleton, a sexy widower with two young children, fireworks ensue. Thanks to a father who was thwarted in his desire for a son and named his fourth daughter after himself, Sydney has never thought of herself as womanly or sexy or even attractive. But from their first meeting, John recognizes the sexy woman beneath her severe clothing and practical shoes -- a woman he can't stop thinking about -- even though he knows nothing can ever come of the attraction he feels for her.
