O tej książce
The Ludwig Museum is dedicating the first comprehensive retrospective of his graphic work in Germany to Julian Schnabel. "Palimpsest", derived from the Greek, describes the process of erasing and rewriting parchments and various other documents that was common in antiquity. The selected graphic works cover a period from 1983 to 2016 and belong to a body of work that constitutes a significant part of Julian Schnabel's artistic oeuvre. The exhibition shows the visionary artist, a restless inventor and seeker who constantly tries out surprising printing techniques and materials. His etchings, collages and lithographs, some of which were printed on velvet and various other supports such as world maps, deserve special mention. This catalogue accompanies the exhibition Julian Schnabel - Palimpsest Printed 1983-2016 at the Ludwig Museum, Koblenz, June 19 — August 14, 2016
