Each title within the Island Light series is set around a different island that has been the subject matter for both historic and contemporary painters. Coupled with the paintings, a historic writer of that region is chosen to combine natural history, memoir, and poetry to create a work that still resonates today. Together, the poetry and paintings reveal a world that few have inhabited and thousands have visited.
