Good Men Go Home: Three Promises

A hard-working, but inattentive, husband discovers all he is getting from his wife for Christmas is a divorce—and she has already selected his replacement. To make amends for being absent for many years, this prodigal son makes three promises to his ailing mother to be a good man. When the divorce is filed by a self-described-mean-attorney on the day his mother dies, along with a legal motion to separate him from his children, he confronts the likelihood he will fail again to be good enough. Though he perseveres, the once successful international executive faces mishap, and ruin as an indifferent society recognizes only his traditional role as a breadwinner—until his children teach him what he has ceased to believe about himself, and about being their only dad. This is a moving, and inspiring true story of one man’s journey home to Kansas, that pokes gentle (and not so gentle) fun at our frail human efforts to transcend our past, gain from our losses, and begin again.
