O tej książce
Goddess on Earth: Portraits of the Divine Feminine, a 2012 Gold Nautilus Book Award winner celebrates the divine feminine in contemporary women.Inspired by the stories of goddesses throughout human history, photographer Lisa Levart set out ten years ago to explore and capture how everyday women are inspired to heal, thrive and embrace their own personal power through their connections with sacred myths. Goddess on Earth features a wide array of women—ages 8-99—photographed embodying the Divine Feminine. Among those featured in the book are Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, Tony Award Winner Shirley Knight, actresses LisaGay Hamilton and Karen Allen; spiritual and political activists Tashi Dolma and Nomfundo Walaza; best-selling authors Isabel Allende and Madhur Jaffrey; and many others. The women portrayed in Goddess on Earth share their own personal insights, describing their connection to the goddess they chose to portray. There is also an introduction by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D., and an afterword by noted activist and author Starhawk. Goddess on Earth is a celebration of female diversity and empowerment.
