Gabriele Basch: Beat

In her large-scale, paper-cutout installations, German artist Gabriele Basch presents us with logos, pictograms and abstract forms, varnished on both sides and hung near a reflecting wall, to create a dynamic interplay of colors. Her oil paintings translate motifs like close-ups of floral ornamentation into images that straddle sharply focused representation and unfocused abstraction, with neon energy.
