Elementary Forest Surveying and Mapping II

This text was written for thepurpose of explaining the use of the engineer's transit, theodolite, engineer's level and plane table in the solution of fundamental problems related to Forest Engineering. While the use of the infared and electronic distance measuring instruments do have a place in Forest Engineering, they have been omitted as has been ce3lestial astronomy, photogrammetrey and public land survey. It is necessary to master the fundamentals before attempting to solfe more advanced problems with more sophisicated equipment. Logarithmic tables have also been omitted from the text because it is believed that they have outlived their usefulness in the age of the electric calculators...
