Richard Walker, BSc, PhD, is editorial consultant and author of DK's Encyclopedia of the Human Body . Trained originally as a zoologist, Richard now holds a PhD in physiology and biochemistry. He has taught both secondary school and university students, and now enjoys a successful career as a writer and consultant.
