The 'multiple intelligences' defined by the Harvard psychologist, Howard Gardner, are the subject of scrutiny in the third of the new series of Perspectives on Educational Policy launced by the Institute of Education, University of London. Professor John White's philosophical critique is also the second paper from the Institute's recently formed Broader Perspectives Unit, based within our History and Philosophy Academic Group.
