Djuna Barnes’ A Book And Early Stories

Though remembered mostly for her classic novel Nightwood (1938) the legendary Djuna Barnes (1892-1982) published earlier texts, all shorter, the best of which are collected not only the self-illustrated first edition of her A Book (audaciously titled, 1925) but several shorter texts of imaginative writing and reportage. Among the latter is her newspaper article about attending with her sisters an evening of boxing in Far Rockaway. This edition also contains her line-drawings that were omitted from later editions.
