Discipleship 101: Engaging the Local & Global Neighborhood, is a collaboration between several ministers. The idea was born as they read one another’s books about evangelism and had conversations about the need to motiviate the modern American church goer to be actively evangelizing the world around them. Doug Lucas’ work, More Disciples, kickstarts Christians to engage people with the gospel. Tim Wallingford's book, Turning Church Members into Disciple Makers, looks at the twelve profiles found in the book of Acts and enables believers to understand exactly how to share the gospel with each one. David Vaughan, whose ministry has successfully engaged Whitewater Crossing Christian Church to impact Cincinnati’s west metro area, and JR Horn, a member of Team Expansion, who assists congregations in developing effective global missions ministries bring their own personal perspectives and techniques to the evangelism field. Put that all together and this short evangelism manual includes personal, local, and global outreach. The prayer of the authors is for each congregation to be able to utilize this book to revive the priority of evangelism and awaken Christians to the great responsibility and joy of making disciples within their circles of influence—their local and global neighborhoods.
