O tej książce

“Desert Brew” concerns the efforts of Mrs. Marshall to cure her husband of the drink habit. To this end she has taken Marshall and her daughter, Joe, out to a ranch, far from town influences. Hither comes by accident, Woods Morgan, a popular novelist in search of new material, and incidentally of a mine which has been located for him among the foothills; and Mrs. Marshall, recognizing him under his nom-de-plume of Bill Woods, enlists his help in locating the secret source from which Marshall is steadily procuring liquor. Hither also comes Carter, a revenue officer trying to locate a bootlegger's still. The result is a complicated game of hide-and-seek, in which Western episodes and Western humor are employed with all the deftness born of accurate knowledge and skilful literary technique.
