O tej książce
Delivery by Sea is based upon the author’s early life, what he got up to how he coped with recovery from a brain haemorrhage aged 15 when any dreams he had had are dashed because rather than examinations he has to deal first with the way his brain functions have altered, he has to learn to walk once again as he has a left sided weakness and is prone to epilepsy. It’s a story of the human spirit and how any individual comes to terms with a disability.... and more Although based upon the author’s own experiences . Includes experiences of people with similar situations like when and if he should commit to marriage and have children, how it affects the work he’s done. Also how his life changing disability affects his interactions with those closest to him. It is a story of the human spirit overcoming and adapting to life after a life changing event. Where there’s a will there’s a way.. Nick deals with temper, with anger & frustration in a humorous manner.. Anyone can overcome adversity if they try hard enough. The title reflects how much the sea played a part in his recovery from being a limping and terrified teenager, through to marriage and meeting the woman of his dreams, prepared to support him , through to enjoying in an almost vicarious way the lives of his two children. Overall it is a story of hope. Tragic, farcical and true. And just as with other books he’s written, Nick’s own plot is somewhat chilling. Even his best friends will be surprised!!
