Decorative floral engravings : 118 plates from the 1696 Accurate description of terrestrial plants

An exceptionally beautiful collection of floral engravings, the 118 plates in this work are reproduced here for the first time in over 300 years. They date back to the 17th century Netherlands when they were first published in the much acclaimed Accurate Description of Terrestrial Plants by Abraham Munting. The Dover edition is designed for years of use. The paper is opaque, with minimal show-through; it will not discolor or become brittle with age. Pages are sewn in signatures, in the method traditionally used for the best books, and will not drop out, as often happens with paperbacks held together with glue. The book opens flat for easy reference. The binding will not crack of split. This is a permanent book.
