O tej książce

Danny is a highly intelligent teenager who is in a battle to save his dog’s life. His family lives in New England next to a cranberry farm, where he has an inseparable relationship with his dog Cranny. In fact, Cranny saves Danny’s life several times. However, when Cranny is diagnosed with lymphoma, Danny becomes obsessed with finding a cure as payback for his dog’s heroics. He confides in Lilith, a girl afflicted with porphyria whom he met while working in the neighborhood. She questions his motives and encourages him to search his soul for character flaws. Unbeknownst to his parents, Danny hides his scheme, which involves cloning a gene into an adenovirus, while spending his entire college savings accrued from working on the cranberry farm to purchase the materials for this treatment. Will he be able to establish a cure in time to save his dog or will his plan go awry?
