O tej książce
This book exists to highlight some modern musicians who are actively preserving the true artform of country music. These artists echo the authentic sounds of the Appalachian Mountains, the Oklahoma dust storms, and the California migrant camps. These artists acknowledge their roots from coal mines to cotton fields, from cattle ranches to railyards. Country is the music of the American people, along with its cousin the genre of the blues; there’s a litany of American classics to follow from Jimmie Rodgers and Woody Guthrie up through the generations. This book is not meant to be a multi-page salvo on the “death” of “real country.” Rather, this book is intended to focus on the folks who are doing country music proud, reflecting the roots of a powerful and spirited genre. The book has chapters on Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, the Avett Brothers, and more.
