When Britain’s National Trust was founded over 100 years ago, the first property to be donated was a section of coastline overlooking Cardigan Bay in Wales. One of the Trust’s founders famously wondered whether it would be their last. Certainly, it would have been beyond her wildest dreams to know that today the National Trust protects over 700 miles of the nation’s coastline.
