O tej książce
Brian Reisman never imagined that coaching a small-town college women’s basketball team would be his ticket to redemption. But as he navigates the challenges of a tumultuous season, he discovers that success on the court is only part of the battle. Faced with corrupt officials, personal betrayals, and the pressure of professional advancement, Brian must confront his own values and desires. His journey from near obscurity to potential greatness is marked by intense moments of triumph and heartbreak. Will Brian find the strength to rise above his circumstances and forge a new path, or will the weight of his past and present struggles bring him down?Authors I’m delighted that the WNBA and the women’s competition in March Madness have become so popular. However, I believe that my experience coaching D3 women’s basketball is a more common situation in our sports culture.Although none of the young women I had the pleasure of coaching were world-class athletes, they were all intelligent, disciplined, and committed, and they always played hard. They were also real people because they didn’t totally define themselves as basketball players. Even so, they were routinely disrespected by the school’s athletic director, the men’s basketball coach, and the administration. So, in addition to the adventures and misadventures of Brian Reisman, the first-person narrator, this is what the novel is about.
