This collection of poems provides character studies of two persons. DeForest “Bud” Baldwin (1916-1985) and Mary Dondro Baldwin (1917-2004) were married for 45 years. Bud was a partner in a Los Angeles CPA firm for a quarter century. He was a good provider for the Baldwin family. However, in the author's view, Bud and Mary struggled to enjoy true happiness in their relationship. These poems illustrate that struggle. In the end, their relationship might be described as a tolerable truce.
