Bondi Blues

It’s the 1990s and Australia, as always, is in trouble – nowhere more so than around the golden sands and aquamarine surf of the country’s most popular beach, Bondi. Noakes, a small-time hustler a few days out of prison, is offered the errand of a lifetime by crime king Alan Hucker. Just as he thinks it’s safe to go back in the water, he finds he’s already out of his depth, menaced by predatory politicians, crooked cops, bent film producers and their sado-masochistic stars. A trip to Los Angeles and Palm Springs just makes things worse as a Bel Air brothel keeper and her celebrity clients take a hand. In strip clubs, tattoo parlours and on the sands of the beach itself, Noakes grapples with a mystery that spans the world. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Bondi knows.
