O tej książce
Today, there are four main approaches to interpreting the book of Revelation: the idealist approach; the preterist approach; the futurist approach; and the historicist approach - which is followed here. This approach to interpreting Revelation finds little favour today and will be unfamiliar to many Christians. However, it is by no means novel. It has been the approach adopted by many Protestant commentators since the Reformation, and it still has its adherents today. A historicist interpretation views the book of Revelation as a revelation and prediction of the most important events affecting the church during the course of the gospel age. In common with the other approaches, it also seeks to draw general truths and lessons from the book. However, unlike the others, it sees the prophecy of the book being fulfilled in the unfolding history of this present age, from John’s time to the return of Christ. The hope of the author is that what is offered here will help the reader to understand the time in which we live, and so be better equipped to serve God and to stand in the midst of the testing things that are happening in our day. About the author: Carol White lives in Teddington, Greater London. She was converted in 1980 after spending 28 years as a convinced atheist. Her church affiliation has been with Baptist and Independent Evangelical churches.
