The extensively reworked photographs by Peter Arnold give a whole new meaning to the expression 'high gloss'. His dark skinned models are staged in a brilliant way, immaculate and bathed in light. The strong aesthetic of their athletic bodies and their self-confident appearance are impossible to resist. In Black and Beautiful Arnold creates sculptures of muscles and skin - and pretty often he puts a focus on the thoroughly impressive equipment of his models.
