Bedouin Woman, Under God

Janiah, a Bedouin woman, grew up as a slave in the desert of the Arabian Peninsula. Her struggles began when she was born a premature infant. She survived separation from her mother and a forced marriage at age twelve to an old man. Then, she faced failing water wells, loss of animal herds from an unexplained disease, and swarms of locusts. Allah did not answer her prayers. But during a trip to fetch water from a desert well, she encountered a man she didn't know. Could he help her?
