Astral Projections

ASTRAL PROJECTIONS is an account of the author s many experiences of astral projection or out-of-body phenomena over a forty year period. The author describes himself as being naturally susceptible to paranormal experiences, his mother having had the abilities of a medium. He grew up in a psychically knowledgeable environment but also possessed a strong scientific and philosophical inclination which was fired off by a teacher discussing the alleged differences between the mind and body as in Cartesian dualism. Michael was determined to provide proof that there was such an entity as a soul capable of leaving the physical body and to this end, starting during his teenage years, got involved with research bodies investigating the phenomena. He participated world wide in work done by such bodies as The Institute of Psychophysical Research; The Monroe Institute and The International Academy of Consciousness etc. in his determination to provide proof that such an ability exists. There is one particularly tragic but uplifting episode when Michael describes an ecstatic projection to the astral world where he visited his son who had sadly committed suicide. The author weaves together personal history, anecdote and philosophical review in a very readable memoir.
