Fully engaged in the climate protests she meets a mysterious homeless guy named Sam who helps inform her views in a frightening world in which exists the affluent alongside an underclass of people known as the Barbarians and the Slaughter-wolves. With her best friend, April, Alice also encounters a ‘freaky’ religious sect and begins to question the purpose of her own life in London.
