After Apple-picking

After Apple-picking is one of Frost's seemingly simple poems which grows deeper with later readings. After a long day of picking apples, the speaker is tired. He has felt drowsy and dreamy since the morning when he looked through a sheet of ice lifted from the surface of a water trough.
