Advocate, in rising to move the first Resolution, That this Meeting consider Slavery, under every modification, and in every country, as Opposed to the dictates Of humanity, the prosperity of nations, and especially to the principles of the Christian religion. That, deeply sensible of their Obligations to Provi dence for removing from this nation the stigma of maintaining slavery, this Meeting feel called on, as free citizens of a Christian State, to use every lawful means for promoting the entire abolition of Slavery in every quarter of the world.
