A Sprig of Thaxin: A Tale of Ordeal and Retribution

This is a 16-page black-and-white comic story in the fantasy genre with an appendix of original sketches and unused pages. I did the story in 1978. It was published in Mike Friedrich's "Imagine" the following year and was included in my anthology "Realms," published in 1987. I decided to see if Amazon's print-on-demand service could be used to economically publish a graphic novel. I knew that the paper stock would be thin and that show-through of images could be a problem, so the art is presented on righthand pages only, with an evolving graphic on the left side. The blacks are not as dense as I would have liked, but that would have made the show-through problem worse. Overall, I consider the experiment a success.
