O tej książce

In the modern world a forester is about as close to being a woodsman as it gets. Foresters spend thousands of hours each year in the woods of Maine while managing hundreds of thousands of acres of land. Foresters work for landowners to ensure sustainable harvests of the many renewable resources that come from the Maine woods and often find themselves working alone in the most remote reaches of the back country. This book is a collection of stories from over the course of a decade working as a forester all across the state from the northern most border to the rugged mountains in the west. Traveling thousands of miles a year on Maine's gravel roads and traveling hundreds of miles on foot through the thickest and wildest country Maine has to offer are all part of a days work. From stand offs with rutting bull moose and protective bears to working outside in some of the most severe winter conditions in the lower 48 states each day brings a new adventure. Ive been humbled over the years by the raw beauty and power of Mother Nature in Maine's North Country as well as the many folks who come north to recreate in the woods and on the water. Come along for a good old fashioned Maine woods ride and enjoy this collection of stories from working in the woods of Maine.ABOUT THE AUTHORBrian Holland is a Licensed Maine Forester and Sportsman living in the foothills of Western Maine.
