A Dog in Dürer's Etching "The Knight, Death and the Devil"

This short story by Marco Denevi was written in 1966, as an "order", as per Denevi, by the translator of this version Alberto Manguel who was then working for Galerna, a small publishing company in Buenos Aires. The theme he was asked to write was The Knight, Death and the Devil”, and thus he wrote A Dog in Dürer’s Etching “The Knight, Death and the Devil”. This story is written as one single sentence that flow and bend and swirl and splash and go on as a river, just as the knight's thoughts do.
