Anyway - whatever he thought his troubles were, he would never have any more. But Hugh's troubles were just beginning - because no one else could possibly have committed the murder! The sheer, impossible nonsense of the situation looked like disaster to Hugh, but it was a worthy challenge to the imagination of Patrick Butler.
