Broken Spells

When the quest for power is absolute, corruption is sure to follow… but not if I can help it.There was a moment where everything was perfect. All my men were with me, and safe. The threats against us were no more. The future was right there, waiting for us to dive in together. But perfection never lasts—we were fools to think it would.Forced into hiding by the twisted manipulations of those who were supposed to be our leaders, Van and Tobias had no choice but to leave. Marco, Angus, and I are stuck: If we leave we look guilty, if we stay the risk to us grows daily. But leaving really isn’t an option. Someone must stop the new rulers of the Society of Ancient Magic from remaking the Vessel that took so many innocent lives. Not all members of the Society are pleased with the new direction they are heading. A small, secret group of allies has emerged, determined to stop their horrific history from repeating. The resistance might be our one chance to finally put an end to the madness. That’s assuming we survive the violent mobs who have taken over campus, the increasingly suspicious police presence, and the nightly wolf hunts that harken back to the dark ages. The path forward is fraught with danger, but one thing is clear—I can’t lose the four pieces of my heart.
